Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam (Netherlands)

Rotterdam - academic laboratory

RotterdamThe city of Rotterdam is a modern metropolis that has the largest port in Europe and is home to over 160 nationalities, including 50,000 students, as well as many multinational companies. EUR plays a prominent
role by making substantial contributions to Rotterdam and the surrounding region in such areas as healthcare and economic and socio-cultural development of the city Rotterdam and the region as a whole.

Erasmus University Rotterdam - Main Port of Knowledge

Erasmus University RotterdamErasmus University (EUR) is an international spawning ground for critical academic thinking, driven by a strong focus on current social issues. Our focus is on management, organisation and policy in the public and private sectors, as well as on medicine and health care.

At EUR, education and research fall into three domains, in which the University enjoys international recognition. The cohesion in domains is conducive to multidisciplinary collaboration in education and research: where disciplines meet, knowledge is advanced.

Master Public Administration

Students are equipped with a keen analytical and theoretical understanding of the international dimension of modern governance, providing a strong basis for many professional roles in international institutions.

Central to our educational philosophy is the idea that students of public administration, whether as full-time students or as practitioners seeking post-entry training, ought to be trained in such a manner that they are adequately prepared to meet the changes and challenges in contemporary governance, both in the Dutch and the European (indeed, in more general terms, international) contexts.

The Master Public Administration is a one-year (60 ECTS) programme at the Faculty of Social Sciences. The language of instruction is English. Students can also opt for the specialisation in International Public Management and Policy.

Exchange

  • Incoming exchange is preferably organized in the 1st semester, during which 5-6 students can be hosted. In the 2nd semester, fewer English language courses are offered, since the Rotterdam students themselves are performing an internship at that time. Dutch-speaking students can, however, be offered the opportunity to participate in the side range of Dutch language courses.
  • Courses can be chosen from the MPA programme.
